Fractions and Decimals

Fractions and Decimals graphic.

Fractions and Decimals function and represent numbers in Math quite similarly, though they do have different forms.
Both are used as a means of writing certain values that usually aren’t whole, and they can both be equally useful and effective.

Fractions

Fractions have in fact been written and presented in a selection of different forms in various parts of the globe over time.

However the kind of fractions that we observe and use today, have mostly been that way for the last few centuries.
The topic is often best first introduced with the help of pictures, which is what wee look to do at mathzenith.com in some of the fractions pages listed further in the page.

Decimals

Decimal numbers have a similar basis to fractions in their use.
They are also an effective method of presenting a number that isn’t exactly whole.
A number will be formed that will have a decimal point present at some place.
